What Is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting®, also known as cryolipolysis, is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive body contouring procedure that permanently removes fat without surgery. It is a safe and effective way to get rid of unwanted fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. This body sculpting procedure can be used to treat several areas with visible fat bulges such as the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, upper arms, and under the chin. CoolSculpting® is a painless procedure that delivers natural-looking results and a noticeably slimmer appearance. It requires zero downtime or recovery, so you can look and feel your best without putting life on hold.

How Does CoolSculpting® Work?

CoolSculpting® works by freezing the fat cells found beneath the surface of the skin. When exposed to cool temperatures, the lipids in fat cells freeze and crystallize. This causes the fat cells to die in a process known as apoptosis or fat freezing. As the fat cells die, the body safely and gradually filters them out over the course of two to six months. The result is permanent fat removal of the targeted areas.

What Will the Treatment be Like?

Your body contouring procedure will be performed in the comfort of our medical spa by one of our licensed team members. During your fat-freezing treatment, the target areas are covered by gel pads to act as a barrier and protect your skin from the cool temperatures. Each CoolSculpting® machine uses an applicator with two panels that delivers cold energy to stubborn fat pockets. The applicator uses suction to pull the skin being treated between these panels in order to freeze fat cells. You might feel slight tugging, tingling, or a cooling sensation, but it should not cause any discomfort. Depending on the size and number of areas being targeted, CoolSculpting® treatment can last anywhere from one to three hours.

What Results Should I Expect?

You’ll notice visible results in as little as two to three weeks after CoolSculpting® treatment. Over the course of two to six months, the body will continue to flush out fat cells from the treated areas, and gradually reveal more dramatic results. To maximize your results, several CoolSculpting® sessions are best. With each session you can expect 20-25% reduction in the treated areas.

How Long Does CoolSculpting® Last?

CoolSculpting® is a fat-freezing treatment that results in the permanent removal of fat cells. With CoolSculpting®, you don’t have to worry about fat deposits returning to the treated areas like traditional weight loss. You’ll enjoy long-lasting results with this body sculpting procedure because it completely eliminates fat cells, whereas traditional weight loss methods only shrink fat cells.
